The volcano’s local vineyards, Nerello Mascalese and Carricante, thanks to the classical method, are used to produce spumante wines of very high quality.
Their name Sosta Tre Santi is to pay homage to Trecastagni, municipality of the South-East slope of mount Etna, where the history of Cantine Nicosia started, back in 1898 and where still today the company has its headquarters, and to its patron saints Alfio, Cirino and Filadelfo, who along their journey towards martyrdom, stopped in this little town on Etna, which still today shows them high devotion.
